As an enthusiast of all things spiritual and metaphysical, my visit to the Queen of Wands Psychic Fair on the 16th of July at Hart's Mill in the charming town of Port Adelaide felt like a venture into a world cloaked in mystique and wonder. This festival was much more than a typical fair; it was a journey through the realms of the mystical and the extraordinary, set within a backdrop rich in history.

The enchanting day at the Queen of Wands Psychic Fair was amplified by the alluring classical guitar melodies from the exceptionally talented Alain Valodze, the creative force behind Alain Valodze Music. An assembly of psychics, mediums, and practitioners of divination arts greeted us at every corner of the fair. From astrology, numerology, and tarot cards to rune stone readings and mediumship, the event catered to all curious minds. Crystal ball readers were at hand, waiting to reveal our futures, providing us with deep and insightful glimpses of what may lie ahead.

The fair was a captivating array of over 70 market stalls, a veritable wonderland filled with spiritual, pagan, and Wiccan supplies, metaphysical books, handcrafted jewellery, and an intriguing mix of taxidermy. I was especially drawn to the vintage-inspired candles, singing bowls and crystals which seemed to radiate calm, while the spiritual drawings sparked curiosity. An added touch of charm came from the Leather Smiths, Wood Smiths & Viking Merchants, their wares whispering tales of an era long gone.
A particularly fascinating aspect of the fair was the 'Emporium of the Strange'. This collection presented a blend of art, science, and nature in the form of curiosities from across the globe. For a mere $5, (children under 10 free), I felt as though I had stepped into a world of captivating oddities, a fascinating adventure that both adults and children would find equally appealing.

A highlight of the event for me was attending the ticketed event - 'Mediumship at the Mill' - featuring the gifted Mira & Rhiannon Fae. This duo utilised their unique abilities to forge connections with spirits, delivering deeply personal messages from our loved ones and spirit guides. The profound experience of being in the historical Hart's Mill, combined with the group's shared anticipation and reception of the readings, made for a deeply moving and memorable session. Their skills truly brought the concept of mediumship to life, transforming it from an abstract notion into a palpable, personal experience.
An equally illuminating part of the day was the 'Tarot Made Simple' workshop, led by experienced author Don McLeod, I'm sure to embark on this experience next time. His journey into the intricacies of the tarot deck was fascinating, with McLeod's unique approach shedding new light on the profound meanings contained within each card. This ancient divination tool took on a new life for me under his guidance.
Beyond the spiritual and mystical allure of the fair, the town of Port Adelaide itself had a charm of its own. I was enchanted by the heritage architecture, the cobbled lanes, and the vibrant street art. Wandering around the town and the famed ship graveyard was an adventure in its own right, and when combined with the aura of the psychic fair, the overall experience was truly exceptional.

A memorable part of the fair was my indulgence in stunning Shungite stone and black obsidian bracelets for my son and myself at Crystal Rainbow. The helpful ladies there, Klair, Ness, and Ange, were incredibly knowledgeable and shared with us the uses and healing properties of these stones.
Reflecting on the Queen of Wands Psychic Fair, it was indeed an event to remember. After such an extraordinary weekend, I needed a full three days to unwind and fully appreciate the Hart's Mill adventure! I eagerly look forward to August 27th when the fair makes its return in Blackwood. Until then, I'll be treasuring the experiences, insights, and spiritual awakenings from this enchanting event.
