Housed on the third level of Rundle Place in Rundle Mall, the City Library invites everyone to its book sale extravaganza from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, every first Friday of the month. Whether you're a fan of classical literature, keen on diving into the world of fantasy, or have a penchant for gripping thrillers, Recycled Reads guarantees a diverse array of genres to cater to all literary tastes. More than just a sale, it's an endeavour to give pre-loved books a new lease of life in the hands of another reader.
To make it a seamless experience for every visitor, the library has ensured the availability of various accessibility options. There are ramps and wheelchair access for those who require mobility support. Drop-off points are also available for convenience. The library features accessible toilets, hearing augmentation systems/hearing loop for those with hearing impairments, and well-placed signage for easy navigation.
In addition, the library provides comprehensive maps to guide visitors through the expansive book sale. Various seating areas are strategically spread across the venue for when you need a break from browsing or when you want to leaf through a book that's caught your eye. The City Library also happily welcomes Assistance Dogs, ensuring a comfortable experience for all attendees. Moreover, it's a Companion Card Affiliate, so carers accompanying a person with a disability are entitled to free entry.
The Recycled Reads event is more than just a book sale. It's a gathering of a vibrant community of readers, a chance to share and discover new stories, and a step towards sustainable consumption practices. Every purchase helps give these books another round of reads, contributing to a more environmentally friendly way of enjoying literature.
