Gawler Youth and Skate Park Leagues have a laid-back day lined up at the skate park for anyone into skateboarding, BMX, scooters or skating. There are comps for all ages and skill levels, just rock up and register on the spot. Helmets are non-negotiable though, so dig yours out unless you want to spectate from the sidelines. Joining in also means you're fine with random punters taking your photo, wipeouts and all.

Family antics include giant checkers, a 12-hole mini golf course and a bunch of other games to kill time. Grab free face painting or airbrush tattoos if the kids fancy looking like superheroes or zombies, with a sausage sizzle and water on tap all day. Gawler Youth will chuck in free books, clothes and random goodies too, no strings attached.
