Woof’s Winter Walk and Wine invites visitors to slow down and savour the simple pleasures of winter in Coonawarra. Woof is Coonawarra’s wandering vineyard dog. Each winter, he hides along the Walking Trail, waiting to lead curious explorers to a secret tasting.

Set among the region’s rich terra rossa soils, this self-guided walking experience combines crisp country air, warming red wines and a sense of playful discovery. Wander at your own pace between participating cellar doors, where warming reds, friendly faces and cosy cellar door experiences await. Guests collect a trail passport and wander between participating cellar doors, including Brand’s Laira, DiGiorgio Family Wines, Ottelia, Redman, Wynns Coonawarra Estate, Zema Estate to enjoy tastings and cosy hospitality along the way.

Hidden somewhere along the trail is Woof, a small painted terra rossa rock waiting to be found. Those who discover him unlock a special secret wine, adding a memorable and interactive element to the journey. Families are warmly welcomed, with small treats for children at each stop to keep young walkers happy and engaged along the way. Once discovered, Woof will wander off again, ready for the next explorer.

This uniquely Coonawarra experience offers a relaxed way to explore multiple wineries at your own pace, making it ideal for couples, friends and families seeking a refreshing winter escape filled with good wine, fresh air and simple seasonal pleasures.

Walk-ins welcome or pre-book online . FREE for kids, and $10 per person for general admission. All ticket types include passport access to six cellar doors, exclusive dog-friendly experiences, a tasting of wine at each winery and a take-home tasting wine glass, a welcome gift for the doggo, a small treat for kids, a donation to our furry-friend charity partners, free cuddles (from dogs only), and guaranteed good vibes.
