Gaining a reputation as an outstanding young pianist from South Australia, James Huon George graduated with Masters in Music Performance from the Elder Conservatorium, University of Adelaide under the tutelage of Lucinda Collins (Head of Piano) in 2025. James possesses a vast and diverse repertoire that spans from the Baroque era to contemporary works. In particular, he is committed to championing Australian composers, often performing works by Percy Grainger, Carl Vine, Nigel Westlake, Miriam Hyde, Peggy Glanville-Hicks, Margaret Sutherland, Horace Keats, Phyllis Batchelor, Esther Kahn, Colin Brumby, Sally Greenaway, Michael Dooley, Jakub Jankowski, and Connor Fogarty.

James has performed interstate and appears frequently in the Recitals Australia, Flinders University, Tuesday on Flinders, Mount Lofty Music Club, Australian Piano Warehouse, and Baroque Hall concert series. Many of his performances have been reviewed and praised heavily by members of the Adelaide Critics Circle. A passionate chamber player and collaborative pianist, James often performs alongside Australia’s finest young musicians in various contexts.

Outside of music, James trained in the Korean martial art Tae Kwon-Do between 2012-2017, attaining the rank of 1st Degree Black Belt from National Tae Kwon-Do Australia where he trained under George England, Martin Kubitzky, and Patrick O’Mallon.
