Porch & Recreation is a two day music and arts get together on Kaurna Country, organised by the crew from Porch Records, your local record shop and purveyors of good times. It's happening in the Burnside Ballroom, a heritage venue about 10 minutes east of Adelaide, so you get the festival energy without the need to bring a tent or negotiate muddy fields — just bring your curiosity and sensible shoes.

The festival runs alongside Vivid Sydney, Rising Melbourne and Dark MOFO, with the Porch team digging through those line ups and their own contacts to bring international, national and local acts and DJs to South Australia. Friday June 12 features anaiis (UK), Kahil El'Zabar Ethnic Heritage Ensemble (US), Drifting Clouds and The Pro-Teens play MF DOOM. Saturday June 13 features Mei Semones (US), Way Dynamic, GODTET and more to be announced. Alongside the music there will be visual art installations, a pop up record shop, a moody cocktail lounge and a handpicked selection of the state's food and beverage vendors. Porch Records are independent organisers who genuinely love music, try to do right by artists and audiences, and put these things on because they think the community is worth it.
