Yarn Bombing Day, part of Worldwide Knit in Public Day, is happening at Hurtle Square, Tangkaira on Saturday 13 June 2026 from 10 am to 3 pm. It's a free, drop in affair for beginners, makers, families and anyone who thinks yarn is either therapy or a mild obsession. Expect a cosy community knit in under the marquee where people can learn new stitches, swap tips with friendly facilitators, or add their handiwork to a slowly expanding yarn installation around the square.

There will be acoustic music, outdoor heaters, a warm drink and a BBQ to keep fingers and bellies warm while people stitch and chat. Crochet circles and hands on activities will be running, and any usable materials left over may be kept for future donations or additional installations so the colourful work can keep brightening the neighbourhood.
